RunProof is a Chrome extension that analyzes Amazon and Walmart product listing pages to help sellers optimize their content. It reads publicly visible page content and produces a quality score with optimization recommendations.
What Data We Collect
Product listing data (processed, not stored permanently)
When you visit an Amazon or Walmart product detail page, RunProof reads the following publicly visible page elements:
Product title, brand name, and bullet points
Image count and video presence
A+ / enhanced content presence and structure
Star rating, review count, and review text excerpts
Best Sellers Rank (BSR) and pricing
Product category and variation information
This data is sent to our secure API (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) for scoring and AI analysis. It is cached temporarily (keyed by a hash of the content, not by user identity) to avoid redundant processing. Cached data expires automatically and is not used for any purpose other than returning your analysis results.
License key
Your license key is stored locally in Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. It is sent with each API request to authenticate your account. We track aggregate usage counts (total analyses, unique ASINs analyzed, daily counts) per license key for billing and service monitoring. We do not associate license keys with personal identity beyond the account name provided at purchase.
What Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect personal information (name, email, address) through the extension
We do not collect browsing history or activity on any page other than Amazon/Walmart product pages
We do not collect cookies, passwords, form data, or authentication tokens
We do not collect or transmit data from any page other than Amazon and Walmart product detail pages
We do not track which pages you visit or when
We do not use any analytics or tracking SDKs in the extension
We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or browser fingerprints
Third-Party Services
RunProof sends product listing data to:
Cloudflare Workers (our scoring API) — processes listing data and returns scores. Data is cached temporarily using content-based hashing. Cloudflare's infrastructure is SOC 2 Type II certified.
AI analysis provider — our API sends anonymized listing content (no user identity attached) for AI-powered analysis. The provider does not use API inputs for model training.
No data is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose other than delivering your listing analysis.
Data Retention
API cache: Listing analysis results are cached for up to 7 days, keyed by content hash (not user identity). Cache entries are automatically purged.
Usage logs: Aggregate usage counts per license key are retained for billing purposes.
Error logs: API error entries (containing ASIN and error type, no personal data) are retained for 30 days for debugging.
Local storage: Your license key persists in Chrome's local storage until you uninstall the extension or clear extension data.
Permissions Explained
storage — stores your license key locally so you don't re-enter it on every page
activeTab — allows the extension to read the current Amazon/Walmart product page when activated
scripting — injects the content script that reads page elements and renders the sidebar overlay
Host permissions — the extension only activates on product detail pages across 22 Amazon marketplace domains and walmart.com. It does not run on any other websites.
Your Rights
You can stop all data processing at any time by disabling or uninstalling the extension. No residual data remains on our servers after cache expiration (7 days maximum). To request deletion of usage logs associated with your license key, contact us below.
